Virginia breast augmentation with Breast Lift

One of the biggest questions we get from potential patients deals with the difference between breast augmentation and a breast lift. Many patients are not sure which one is right for them. Of course, there is no real “black and white” answer to this question. The right procedure for you will depend on the physical characteristics of your breasts and your aesthetic goals.

In general, breast augmentation is most ideally suited to patients who wish to increase the size of their breasts or fill empty space caused by loss of breast tissue due to pregnancy or weight loss. The procedure can also correct sagging caused by age or pregnancy.

Our Northern Virginia breast surgeons can insert breast implants to help you achieve fuller, firmer breasts with more volume than your current breasts have. They are also an effective method to correct breasts that are of unequal shape or size.

A breast lift is performed to raise sagging breasts and put them in their normal position. It is also commonly used with patients who need to correct nipple placement. If your nipples are too low and reside below the inframammary fold, a breast lift is an excellent option to remedy this situation.

There is a significant overlap in the functions that these two procedures can accomplish. Often, we have patients who elect to have a breast lift in conjunction with breast augmentation. This will enable you to achieve your desired breast size and shape while correcting issues caused by sagging.
